May I Have a Real Candidate, Please?

Posted on by arlen

The shrub is stopping by to promote his pet, Mark Green, for Governor. Which brought to mind the coming election, when I get to choose between a man who’s never seen a deficit he couldn’t support (Green) and a man who’s never seen a bribe, excuse me, campaign contribution, he wouldn’t take (James Doyle).

This is a choice?

Do we really need a fervent believer in “borrow and spend” like Green? We’re in enough trouble fiscally right now. I think he’d be enough to kill the state’s economy completely. But can we survive another four years of someone who’s willing to auction off the state to the highest bidder? The smart money will go to Doyle, because he can guarantee a return on investment: want casinos? travel agency contracts? Just drop your cash in the slot and hold out your hands.

My choice for the future of my state is between an auction and a bankruptcy sale. Wiscosnin politics is such a strange game, Professor Falken. Whatever choice you make, you lose.
